Which nail length should I use?

Can someone help me choose a nail for my project? I am putting ¼ inch red oak boards onto a southern yellow pine frame

We recommend having at least 3/8” of the fastener driven in to the bottom board. For your situation a 5/8” or 3/4” fastener would probably work best, however you may need longer fasteners if you ever plan on going through something thicker.
