I mill a large quantity of 18mm and 12mm Baltic Birch plywood on my CNC router. Which gauge and length composite nails would you recommend? I would like to fasten directly to parts that will be finished, so I would prefer a nail that I can leave proud and sand flush, or a pin nail that won’t mar the surface.

RAPTOR® Nails bond to wood. They reach their maximum holding power in wooden substrates if there is only about 3/8” penetration, and in harder woods less penetration may be needed. For 18mm (0.70”), a 1” or 1 ¼ ” 15Ga finish nail would be recommended. For 12mm (0.47”, a ¾” or 1” 15Ga finish nail would be recommended. They can easily be sanded flush, and will accept stain, which saves you the step of countersinking and puttying every nail hole.
