Benefits
Clamp nails are used to draw together mitered corners much like corrugated fasteners. Unlike corrugated fasteners, clamp nails must have a pre-cut slot (1/16”/1.6mm kerf) into which they are driven, and they are driven one-at-a-time using a hammer or palm nailer. The advantage compared to corrugated fasteners (other than the advantages of the plastic composite compared to metal) is the length that can be drawn together. Corrugated fasteners are usually not more than about 3/8”(10mm) long while clamp nails range in length from 1/2″(12.5mm) to 4″(100mm.)
